Self Care

Each week I am going to write a short blog. The subjects will vary weekly. This week I want to talk about Self Care. What comes to mind when you think of Self Care? Do you draw a blank? Do you feel selfish when you consider doing something for yourself? Do you think that it's only for the elite? Do you know what you need? Do you have your self care plan down? On any given day, I can fall into anyone one of those categories.


Lately, I’ve been lacking on self care. I make excuse after excuse. It varies on the day what the excuse is. Lack of time, not wanting to spend the money, not sure what I want to do, etc. Today, I made the decision I will no longer make excuses. I will find a way to give myself the care I need today and every day. Hopefully, you will too!


Here is a short list of self care items in case you are struggling to come up with one of your own: Reading, meditation, long shower, bath, yoga, walk, massage, exercise, turning off your cell phone, watching a movie that brings you joy, playing with an animal, volunteering, hang out with friends, long drive with the music up, vacation, painting, needlepoint, and mindfulness exercise.
